For terms of clarity, Drakehaven Labradors will be referred to as "Seller" and _______________________ shall be referred to as "Buyer".
The puppy upon visual inspection of the buyer appears to be in overall good health and with the following exception(s) _________________________________________ has no existing health concerns to either the Seller (initial) ____ or the Buyer (initial) ____.
The Buyer has five (5) working days to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian. If the puppy is found to be in unsatisfactory health at that time, it may be returned for a full refund. Transportation costs for the return of the puppy are the buyer's responsibility.
Puppies bred by Drakehaven Labradors carry a HIP and EYE GUARANTEE. This covers any problem which prevents the puppy from gaining a certification number from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hips and/or the Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF) for eyes.
Hip evaluations should take place before the age of 30 months. If a hip problem should arise before the age of 30 months, Drakehaven Labradors must be furnished with a copy of the OFA report verifying a dysplastic condition. Reports from any other source will not be accepted as a valid evaluation.
Drakehaven puppies have been examined by a Board Certified Canine Ophthalmologist. Puppies being certified as "clear" will be guaranteed free from genetic eye diseases for a period of 36 months. If an eye problem should arise before 36 months, Drakehaven Labradors must be furnished with a copy of the CERF report.
Any medical expenses in regards to diagnosis and/or treatment of a genetic hip or eye problem are the sole responsibility of the Buyer for the life of the dog, as are any other veterinary expenses.
When the following requirements have been met, this guarantee will be in effect and honored by Drakehaven Labradors:
The dog's AKC registered name must contain "DRAKEHAVEN" (i.e., Drakehaven's Buster -or- Buster of Drakehaven).
The dog must not have been bred.
A copy of the reports from OFA and/or CERF must be sent to us for our records.
Your veterinarian must send a letter to Drakehaven Labradors stating/confirming the dog has been spayed or neutered.
When the Seller is satisfied that a genetic problem does exist, that the dog has never been bred, that the dog has been spayed or neutered and it's registered name contains "Drakehaven", we will give you another puppy of similar breeding, agreeable to both parties. If the price of the replacement puppy is greater than the original puppy purchased, the Buyer will pay the difference.
The Buyer will assume the expense of the transportation of the replacement puppy.
At no time will the Seller make a refund of money.
RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL:
If, at ANY time in the life of your Drakehaven Labrador, it becomes necessary for any reason to give up ownership, Drakehaven Labradors would appreciate the primary opportunity to obtain ownership of the dog.
The Buyer understands these terms and conditions and acknowledges by his/her signature that this is a legally binding document.
